Lord ... God ... how much pride there is in man! ... You who have given us all ... you've put the whole creation in our hands ... and we, with our inordinate selfishness and pride vain ... we have robbed, slandered and killed each other ... war after war, we have destroyed your inheritance ... and now intend to blame you for everything you've done ... of course, is easier ... more convenient ... and let me cleaner conscience, "the fault is not mine, but of God that does not end hunger and war in the world "...
I remember hearing John Paul II referred to "social mortgage" that we all carry on our shoulders ... we are responsible for the sin of the world ... I encourage our actions ... or lack of them! ... It is incumbent upon us the weight of what happens to the smallest and most defenseless of the inhabitants of this planet ... but it's better to turn the eyes in another direction and think that is the fault of another ... of him who pudiéndolo all, choose not to do anything ...
But how far from the truth! ... How great the blindness of men ... do not realize that they are the instruments that you have created to bring justice, peace and love to this dying world ...
"But what I can do for someone who dies of hunger across the world?" Asks one ... or, "How do I go, one, to stop a war?" ... And you know something? ... are right, my Lord ... it is true that we can do little about what happens in Africa or Iran or Afghanistan ... but I can do "something" for everyone who happens to need me ...
That I want my prayer tonight ... let me see clearly the pain and misery that I have by my side ... my heart is not only pity and suffer with them, but can become incarnate in each of my words and deeds to them ... and so, a good deed at a time, go slowly transforming the world ...
I also want to introduce you to Joe ... and all these "Joes" who, like him, refused the precious gift of faith that you will want to give ... bless and grant the grace to get to know you ... Amen ...
